Students and teachers kick off the new school year across Tyler ISD

Teachers and administrators across Tyler Independent School District went all out in order to make the first day of school special for their students. The district welcomed back about 18,000 students and thousands of teachers and staff. Superintendent Marty Crawford said the district began the school year on a high note, after receiving accountability results that showed their hard work had paid off, with no elementary, middle or high school campuses listed as `Improvement Required` for the first time in five years. `The first day of school was a really good start.
