Kolkata`s `mini Kerala` prays for safety of kin

KOLKATA: Nearly 2,400km away from the zone of destruction, a mini Kerala in the heart of the city is now praying for some good news or, at least, for a stop to the torrent of bad news coming from home. At Mukundapur is a neighbourhood in the hospital zone of the city along EM Bypass, where around 4,000 male and female nurses - almost all of them from Kerala - stay. Worried about home, they are flipping through news updates on their cellphones every other minute for the latest information.
