Plastic washes ashore Colva beach

COLVA: A walk along the shore from Benaulim to Colva is reminiscent of Mumbai´s Versova and Juhu beaches. The entire 4km stretch is littered with plastic bags, glass, styrofoam, nylon ropes and scraps of of fishing nets. This year´s theme for World Environment Day was `Beat Plastic Pollution´. This does not appear to have seeped down the thought process of locals and tourists.
