Rain-ravaged state of Kerala in in dire need of support from the country. According to state disaster management authority, 194 people have lost their lives and 36 are missing in Kerala since August 8 due to rains and landslides, while over 3.14 lakh people have been moved to relief camps. Thousands of soldiers and dozens of helicopters have already been deployed to rescue people marooned by the worst floods in a century in Kerala. The weather office warned of more heavy "red" category rains on Saturday as tens of thousands of people were still stuck on the rooftops of houses and community centres.
