Collegian conned by `armyman´ in online purchase

MUMBAI: A man posing as an armyman on an online market platform conned a 19-year-old collegian from Andheri into parting with over Rs 20,000 for a second-hand smartphone. In his complaint filed at Andheri police station, the teenager said on August 11, the conman called him to Navy Nagar in Colaba and made him wait for six hours, while hiking the price of the phone on various pretexts. When the teenager eventually threatened to go to the police, the accused mocked him saying people like him `were made to get conned´ and blocked his number.
