Senators blast federal handling of immigrant children: `We have a serious problem on our hands,` says Rob Portman

`Unfortunately, we have seen examples of children placed with sponsors being trafficked, and right now, the best information that we have is that about 50 percent of these children do not show up for their immigration court proceedings,` said Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations chairman Rob Portman, an Ohio Republican.
