Coimbatore: The city´s top brass, including collector T N Hariharan, police commissioner K Periaiah and superintendent of police S P Pandiarajan, hoisted the tricolour on VOC Grounds to celebrate the 72nd Independence Day. Distribution of welfare schemes, prizes and awards to top performers in many fields and cultural programmes marked the day.
