Gay couple thank Ben Stokes for protecting them during homophobic attack

A couple from Bristol who were defended by England cricketer Ben Stokes following a homophobic attack outside a nightclub have thanked the sportsman for sticking up for them following his acquittal. Kai Barry, and William O´Connell met the 27-year-old cricketer and his team-mate Alex Hales at the Mbargo nightclub in Clifton Triangle, Bristol, on September 25 last year.
