Duffy lands on DL with shoulder impingement

Royals left-hander Danny Duffy was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Monday because of an impingement in his left shoulder. Right-hander Glenn Sparkman, who was sent back to Triple-A Omaha to make room for Blaine Boyer on Sunday, was recalled and will make a start in Duffy`s place on Thursday.
