PB&PA, McDonald´s to give away backpacks

ROCKFORD — The Rockford Police Benevolent and Protective Association and Bear Family McDonald’s will give away free backpacks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at Living Faith Tabernacle Annex, 1124 Fourth Ave.; and 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at Rockford Police District 1, 1045 W. State St.About 400 backpacks will be given out to children in grades K-6. Each backpack will have supplies in it, including a notebook, folder, pencils, glue sticks and a pencil box.
