Fire at Old City Hall causes significant damage

A portion of Toronto’s Old City Hall faced “significant� damage after a fire broke out Monday night.Toronto Fire Services said they responded to an alarm in the building around 8 p.m. and were faced with a one-alarm level fire, said Toronto Fire Chief Matthew Pegg, who was on-site to check out damage.Pegg said there are “indications� that the fire might be deliberate after checking out the scene and added that unknown documentation had been destroyed.Toronto Fire Services requested additional trucks but put out the fire before it escalated to a two-alarm.TOP STORIES.
