George and Julia Argyros donate $500,000 to save cutthroat trout at Yellowstone National Park

Thanks to Newport Beach philanthropist Julia Argyros’ love of fly fishing, the struggling cutthroat trout population in Yellowstone National Park has gotten a $500,000 boost at a time when the recovery program is beginning to show key signs of progress. The fish began losing ground in the late 1980s, when non-native lake trout were introduced into Yellowstone Lake and began eating their cutthroat cousins.
