Raw milk production 2017: cow, sheep and goat milk production once again increased

Press release: 11.819-129/18 Vienna, 2018-07-06 - In 2017, the cow milk (+2.3% to 3 713 000 tonnes), sheep milk (+11.0% to 12 000 tonnes) and goat milk production (+7.0% to 23 100 tonnes) increased again compared to the previous year, according to Statistics Austria`s latest data regarding raw milk production. With an average annual milk yield of 6 900 kg per animal (+1.6%), the 541 000 dairy cows(+0.8%) kept in Austria produced a total of 3 713 000 tonnes of raw milk in 2017 (+2.3%).
