Abreu widens lead in AL All-Star vote at 1st

Jose Abreu strengthened his lead at first base in the second American League All-Star vote update revealed on Tuesday afternoon. Abreu, who is looking to earn his second All-Star appearance and first as a starter, has 636,666 votes, building up an advantage over Boston`s Mitch Moreland (472,245). Yuli Gurriel (368,863), Albert Pujols (336,724) and the injured Miguel Cabrera (333,130) round out the Top 5. No other White Sox player earned enough support to reach the Top 5 at any other position or Top 15 in the outfield.
