Monetary incentives influence confidence judgements

1 June 2018 The decisions we make are accompanied by a feeling of confidence. This process is important because it influences how we may behave in the future. For example, if you are very uncertain about your decision you are more open to feedback. If, however, you are very certain, you will be more likely to follow through on your decision. An accurate confidence judgement (estimating the probability you are right) is therefore critical to make good decisions. Such a confidence judgement can be influenced by various factors such as your mood.
