EU Judicial Body Chief Warns of Dangerous Court `Disease` Spreading From Poland, Hungary

The body which represents European Union states` judiciaries said the drastic changes being made to the court systems in Poland and Hungary were a threat to judicial independence on Thursday, which is a `disease` which could spread to the rest of the European Union, according to Reuters. The European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ) is currently reviewing the status of its Polish member after the Polish government under the control of the Law and Justice (PiS) party brought the courts under increased state control.
