Mengden squares off with D-backs for first time

Right-hander Daniel Mengden will toe the rubber for the A`s today, looking to continue his strong May. He is sporting a 1.46 ERA through four starts, and tossed seven shutout innings in Sunday`s win over the Blue Jays. The Diamondbacks will counter with veteran Clay Buchholz, who made his season debut Sunday and allowed one run in five innings against the Mets. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. PT.
