In an Interleague battle of East divisional leaders, it was the Red Sox who took the first game of their three-game set versus Atlanta, 6-2, by way of the long ball. J.D. Martinez belted his 16th homer, Mookie Betts hit his Major League-leading 17th and Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland also went deep. Eduardo Rodriguez won his fifth game of the season after striking out seven in 5 2/3 innings, while Julio Teheran took the loss for the Braves.
