See WW2's Battlefield 1943 Running On Xbox One Backwards Compatibility
(GameSpot PS3 News)

Battlefield is going back to World War II this October with Battlefield V. Presumably to celebrate the news, EA recently made Battlefield 1943--the last item in the series set in World War II--playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility. We checked it out today and put together a video showing off some of the game`s air combat. Originally released in 2009, Battlefield 1943 was always a budget-priced game, and today it goes for $10/£1 /AU$15 on the Xbox Store. It`s also now available in the EA Access Vault. The game enjoyed high critical marks upon release, earning an average 83 on GameSpot sister site Metacritic. Our Battlefield 1943 review praised that its `balanced classes, diverse vehicles, and dynamic maps provide the kind of variety and replayability that is the hallmark of the most engaging online shooters.` Microsoft is making more games backwards compatible on Xbox One at a fairly regular pace, and the list is getting rather lengthy. This week EA and DICE debuted Battlefield 5, with a close marketing relationship with Microsoft. It`s going back to World War 2, and it seems EA has taken some lessons regarding microtransactions from its experience with Star Wars Battlefront 2. Check out our wrap-up of everything we know about Battlefield 5 for more details you may have missed.
