The Lego Movie Sequel's Title And Teaser Poster Revealed

A sequel to 2014`s animated smash The Lego Movie has been in the works for several years, with its original 2018 release pushed back to February next year and two other Lego movies appearing the meantime. But the movie`s title has now been announced, together with a teaser poster.The film will be titled The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. The title and poster was revealed by the movie`s official Twitter account--the poster is just the logo, but it`s a suitably colourful, brick-based design. He is actually the third director to be attached to the project, following Chris McKay, who instead made The Lego Batman Movie, and Rob Schrab, who exited the movie due to `creative differences.`Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who directed the first film, are producing and co-writing. While plot details aren`t known at this stage, last year McKay gave a few hints about it, and revealed that the film would follow directly on from the first movie and involve issues of gender. `[It looks at] what`s different and similar about gender, when a boy plays vs. how a girl plays,` he said, via Collider. `What kinds of stories are there? Chris and Phil are super f***ing smart and really thoughtful and sensitive writers. The kinds of questions and the interesting ideas that they`re getting into with this movie.`It`s going to be like the first LEGO Movie was, where it`s about something else that`s really profound.
