Ahead of Thursday`s series opener in Boston, the Rangers recalled left-hander Yohander Mendez -- the club`s No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline -- from Triple-A Round Rock and optioned right-hander Nick Gardewine to Round Rock a day after he tossed two scoreless innings against the Indians.
