French President Emmanuel Macron has lofty goals for the European Union reform and while he has been counting on cooperation from Germany, France`s closest Euro zone ally, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is likely to offer some resistance due to domestic pressures, according to National Public Radio. Merkel and Macron are scheduled to meet in Berlin on Thursday to discuss his proposals but Macron may face some challenges on his economic reforms that would negatively affect taxpayers.
