Environmental industry 2016: 34.2 bn Euro output and 183 071 employees

Press release: 11.761-072/18 Vienna,2018-04-18 - In 2016, the Austrian environmental industry employed 183 071 people and produced an output of 34.2 bn euro. The gross value added created by the environmental industry reached a value of 13.3 bn euro and the exports amounted to 9.7 bn euro. These are Statistics Austria`s main results on the environmental goods and services sector (EGSS). Including public transport, 208 606 persons were active in the environmental industry.
