While the worst of the wicked weekend weather appears to be over, this morning’s slushy commute has been plagued with transit issues.As the subways started running at 6 a.m., there were multiple closures, with shuttle buses running in operation. As of 9:30 a.m., the most recent closure —Line 4 — had re-opened. The 512 streetcar is now fully back in operation after shuttle buses ran as replacements all weekend and into Monday morning. Shuttle buses are running along the 511 Bathurst route.The 501 Queen route is only running between Sunnyside and Woodbine. Shuttle buses are filling in between Sunnyside Loop and Long Branch, and along a section of the 503 Kingston route between Bingham Ave. and Woodbine Ave. Several bus routes — including the 85 Sheppard East, 14 Glencairn, and 30 Lambton — are diverting.GO Transit has also had issues. The Milton line suffered double delays due to a switch problem around 8 a.m., and then to a brief shutdown around 40 minutes later after a person was spotted on the tracks. By 9:15 a.m., the line was up and running again, but delays could be even longer than the 30-40 minute delay predicted.RoadsHighway 400 is closed in both directions between Mapleview Drive in Barrie and Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil due to crash involving tractor-trailers.The OPP has reported “numerous reports” of flooding on Greater Toronto Area highways. The mix of snow, freezing rain, ice pellets, rain and powerful winds that battered the region Saturday and Sunday has also driving treacherous, with provincial police reporting more than 1,450 non-fatal crashes over the two days.All lanes on the Hwy 401 eastbound collector off-ramp to Avenue Rd. were closed early Monday morning due to flooding. It’s unclear when it will re-open to traffic.
