Fortnite Battle Royale On iOS Is Slightly Different Than On PS4, Xbox One, And PC
(GameSpot Xbox 360 News)

Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile is almost exactly the same game as on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There will even be crossplay between the different platforms. However, there are still a few differences to Fortnite on phones that are meant to assist with playing on a smaller, portable device.Specifically, the iOS version adds a few visual cues to allow you to play without headphones. Events that otherwise would be conveyed through sound--footsteps or the direction of gunfire, for example--show up in the HUD.If a player is moving nearby, a white arc will show up a bit outside of your crosshairs in the direction of the movement. If gunfire is nearby, a red arc will point you in that direction. The game also displays an indicator pointing you to chests, if you`re in proximity to one.The most obvious change is, of course, the lack of physical buttons; you move your character using on-screen controls. However, in spite of the virtual controls taking some time getting used to, Fortnite Battle Royale on iPhone is the full game, and it runs pretty well too. Be sure to check out gameplay of Fortnite running on iPhone in the embed above. The game is live now for those who got an early invite; Android support will come in the next few months. In addition, it`ll support optional cross-play with other platforms. Meanwhile, a new 3.3 update has launched for the game which adds Battle Royale and Save the World content.
