UNICEF Warns That Global Infant Mortality Rates Are Still `Alarmingly High`

A new report from the United Nation`s Children`s Fund said that one million babies across the world live less than a day, along with several other revealing statistics that show how those deaths are often preventable and the result of complications that arise during labor, according to UN News Center. UNICEF released the report on Tuesday which said the risk of a newborn dying `enormously` depends on where the baby is born. Japan has one of the highest survival rates, where only one of every 1,200 babies dies within the first 28 days.
