While there has been so much talk about the possibility of Quentin Tarantino making a Star Trek movie, you can`t forget his next project. The still-untitled movie is set during the summer of the Manson family murders and, while it will certainly include aspects of the crime spree of Charles Manson and his cult of followers, the plot of the actual film remains a mystery.One thing that`s becoming less mysterious, though, is Leonardo DiCaprio`s role in the movie. It was first reported by Deadline that the actor has agreed to take a starring part in the movie. While it was initially said that he would play an `aging actor,` Deadline is clarifying the role a bit more.DiCaprio will play the role of a fictional actor who previously starred on a show called Bounty Law, between 1958 and 1963. When the actor tried to make the jump to movies, he failed and now--in 1969, when the movie is set--makes a living by appearing on other shows as a guest star and is considering a move to Italy. At the time, the European country was becoming known for its low-budget Western films.According to Deadline, the film will have a `tapestry` reminiscent of Tarantino`s Pulp Fiction. There are no details on what exactly that means. However, given that Pulp Fiction followed multiple storylines through a mixed up timeline, it`s possible Tarantino is considering telling a story through that method once again.As for who will join DiCaprio in the film, there doesn`t seem to be anybody confirmed yet. Previously, it`s believed Margot Robbie was asked to play actress Sharon Tate--who was murdered by Manson`s followers--while Deadline also believes it`s possible Tom Cruise could join the project.The untitled film will be released in theaters on August 9, 2019. It will be Tarantino`s first film with Sony Pictures after the director parted ways with The Weinstein Company in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
