Former Butte County Sheriff Hal Brooks has died

Brooks died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at age 87, after a short battle with lung cancer, according to his wife, Sharon. At his request, no services are planned. Brooks had a long career in law enforcement, having joined the Chico Police Department in 1957. ......
