Phoenix council approves controversial apartment development

The Phoenix City Council voted 6-2 Wednesday to approve a contentious apartment development on Seventh Street. The council approved rezoning plans for Atlanta-based apartment developer Wood Partners to build the Alta Marlette multifamily complex with 229 units. That number of units was unveiled by Councilman Michael Nowakowski at the City Council meeting today surprising opponents of the project.
