February and April vacations remain in school calendar

CONWAY - The Conway School Board voted 4-2 on Monday to adopt the 2018-19 school calendar proposed by School Superintendent Kevin Richard and Assistant Superintendent Kadie Wilson. It will continue to have weeklong school vacations in February and April in it. Board chairman Joe Lentini, Michelle Capozzoli, Jessica Whitelaw and Bill Aughton voted for the calendar, while Randy Davison and Mark Hounsell did not. Board member Joe Mosca was unable to attend the meeting. Last May, the Conway board brought forward a resolution saying it intended to eliminate the two-week February and April vacations to avoid getting out of school in late June.
