MURRAY WILSON/STUFF Glenys Mahoney had surgical mesh implants and is dealing with ongoing debilitating pain. In an 11-year battle since surgery, Glenys Mahoney has lost her job and her mobility. The Palmerston North woman is glad the use of vaginal surgical mesh is being restricted in New Zealand, but she says it`s not enough. In 2006, Mahoney had surgery for a pelvic organ prolapse, which left her in debilitating pain. She`s had 12 operations to attempt to correct it but there`s still mesh in her body, which leaves her unable to sit for prolonged periods, and unable to bike or drive.
