DA files court order to oust Harrisburg School Board member for prior conviction

The Dauphin County District Attorney has filed a motion to remove a newly seated Harrisburg School Board member because of a misdemeanor conviction from her past. The district attorney`s office filed the motion against Carrie Fowler last week, immediately after she was sworn in to her seat on the nine-member board. First District Attorney Fran Chardo last month asked Fowler to voluntarily step down because Pennsylvania law forbids people with convictions for felonies or `infamous` crimes from holding office.
