Virtual therapy head and neck cancer

Although the technique is still under development, Merijn Eskes` PhD research brings the Virtual Therapy project for head and neck cancer one step closer to the clinic. He describes how it is possible to predict lip movements by means of electromyography of the facial muscles. He will defend his thesis on December 13th, at the University of Twente. Patients with a tumour in the head and neck region may experience various functional problems after surgery and/or radiation.
