Dutch gov`t mulls plans to uplift Cebu`s agriculture sector

In an exclusive interview Tuesday, Gordon Alan Joseph, honorary consul to the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cebu, said that although Cebu may not be an agricultural center at the moment, he believes that `maybe through technology interventions like smart agriculture practices, we`ll be able to uplift the cut flower farmers and maybe introduce other agricultural products that may be applicable to the province.` He said ancient agricultural practices and the lack of farm-to-market roads, storage facilities, expertise and funding are the factors that slow the progress of the agriculture sector in Cebu. ......
