Abbey profit grows; raises dividend

Abbey PLC said Friday that first-half profit before tax rose 7.7%, as it raised its dividend. The homebuilding company operating in Ireland, the U.K. and Prague, Czech Republic, posted a pretax profit of 23.4 million euros for the six months ended Oct. 31, up from EUR21.8 million the year before. ......
