M1 and NTU Singapore embark on Singapore´s first comprehensive research on the use of 4.5G HetNet for secure drone operations

SINGAPORE, 7 December 2017 - M1 Limited (M1) and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) have conducted successful trials using M1`s 4.5G Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) to provide command, control and communication capabilities required for safe and efficient drone operations. This milestone was achieved by flying a purpose-built drone, an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) assembled by the Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI), a joint research centre by NTU Singapore and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
