Regional economy 2016 with strongest growth in Salzburg and Tyrol

Press release: 11.672-232/17 Vienna,2017-12-06 - In 2016, Gross Regional Product (GRP)in volume terms increased in all Austrian NUTS 2 regions, according to Regional Accounts data compiled by Statistics Austria. Real growth rates range from +0.3% in Vorarlberg to +2.5% in Salzburg. Austria`s GDP in volume terms grew by +1.5% (see Table 1). Regional disparities in the growth rate of GRP were smaller than in the previous year. Salzburg`s, Tyrol`s and Carinthia`s economies recorded the strongest growth in 2016 The strongest real growthwas recorded in Salzburg (+2.5%).
