2018 Will Be A `Big Year` For The Final Fantasy Franchise, Square Enix Says
(GameSpot PS2)

Final Fantasy fans are in for a big year next year. Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto has reportedly promised multiple new titles in 2018.As reported by Gematsu, Hashimoto told the Edamame Arcade Channel that the studio`s teams were working on multiple games. `They are all gearing up for a big year next year. Next year is going to be a big year,` he said. You can watch the interview below. The Final Fantasy series is about to turn 30 years old next month. Its latest release, Final Fantasy XV for PS4 and Xbox One, just received its latest DLC called Comrades. The expansion, which added a multiplayer component to the game, lets you team up with three other players online to complete quests. You can play Comrades if you purchased the Season Pass or as a individual purchase for $20, which still requires owning Final Fantasy XV.Meanwhile, Square Enix also released a VR spinoff for PSVR called Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV. It`s a whole game based on the fishing mini-game featured in Final Fantasy XV and, as you can read here, it`s just as weird as it sounds. Next up in the series is the long-awaited Episode Ignis chapter for Final Fantasy XV, which is due out December 13, 2017. The game is due out on PC next year.
