Battlefield 1 October Update Out Now, Here's What It Does
(GameSpot PS2)

The October update for Battlefield 1 has arrived. This month`s patch is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and primarily makes an assortment of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks to the online shooter. One of the more notable changes DICE has made to Battlefield 1 is removing the 40-player option for Operations. `Based on continuous feedback from our community and an ongoing effort to ensure successful matchmaking for Operations servers we have disabled the 40-player option,` creative director Lars Gustavsson said in a statement on the game`s website. `We`ve determined that by allowing servers to only support 64-player Operations, match joining times are kept at a minimum and the probability of joining an active populated server is drastically increased. Our goal is to unite our players under this fan-favorite mode and consistently provide more instances of matches quicker.`The vast majority of the other changes address various bugs that appear in the game, such as one that prevented players from spawning in a plane controlled by a teammate if the plane was outside of the combat area. DICE has also tweaked the Concealed Rescue Specialization to no longer automatically deploys smoke on a fallen squad member. Additionally, players now have the option to disable the Chromatic Aberration and Photographic Film Grain Noise effects. You can find the patch notes for this month`s Battlefield 1 update below and on the game`s website. All Battlefield 1 players will need to install the update in order to continue playing the game online.Battlefield 1 October Update Patch NotesSpecializations & AssignmentsThe Concealed Rescue Specialization has been changed and no longer deploys smoke automatically on a downed squad mate.
