Casino or not, Steelpointe Harbor work continues

Bridgeport´s largest development project is slated in coming years to include a hotel, marina, retail, restaurants and thousands of residential units, including potentially high-rise apartment buildings. All that is planned with or without a casino. The developers, RCI Marine of Florida, reiterated last week that plans for Steelpointe Harbor are separate from the proposed $675 million gambling and entertainment center that MGM wants to build a short distance away on land also under RCI´s control. If the casino is approved and built, it would complement Steelpointe Harbor, but the two are not contingent on each other, said Bob Christoph Sr., RCI´s founder and president. ......
