COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT Public Health Announces Hepatitis A Outbreak in LA County Hepatitis A vaccine is the best protection LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) has declared a local outbreak of hepatitis A (HAV) in Los Angeles County because the most recent new cases appear to be locally acquired. Hepatitis A outbreaks are currently ongoing in San Diego and Santa Cruz counties.
