(Digital Photography Review)

Earlier today, Western Digital introduced its new My Book Duo external desktop storage system, which offers up to 20TB of storage capacity and RAID capabilities. The My Book Duo connects to your computer via a USB Type-C port and supports USB 3.1 Gen 1/3.0/2.0 for high-speed connectivity. Additionally, the device comes with two USB Type-A ports for connecting other accessories such as drones, cameras, card readers or smartphones for syncing and charging. The MyBook Duo also features RAID-optimized WD Red hard drives, to deliver sequential reads at up to 360 MB/s. The RAID-optimized firmware comes with auto management of drive operations to help ensure read/write cycle data integrity. Password protection and 256-bit AES hardware encryption with integrated WD Security software come standard as well. The MyBook Duo is now available globally. US Pricing ranges from $260 for the 4TB version up to $800 for 20TB variant. More information is available on the Western Digital website.
