More than 240,000 miles over our heads, the skies are preparing for show time on Monday morning, when the sun and the moon perform their long-awaited optical trick. If only we can see it. Down here on the ground, it’s “Fogust” in some parts of the Bay Area, that late-summer oddity that wraps us in an atmospheric blanket of low gray clouds. In some spots, you’ll be lucky to see as far as the mailbox down the street. If that’s our fate, here’s some advice: “Head south, north or east,” advises Jan Null of the Golden Gate Weather Forecasting. How far south?
