Results of visitor expenditure survey for the 2nd Quarter of 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total spending (excluding gaming expenses) of visitors was MOP13.75 billion in the second quarter of 2017, up by 17.5% year-on-year and 2.2% quarter-to-quarter. Total spending of overnight visitors rose by 22.5% year-on-year to MOP11.38 billion, while that of same-day visitors dropped by 1.5% to MOP2.37 billion. In the second quarter of 2017, per-capita spending of visitors was MOP1,787, up by 11.7% year-on-year and 4.6% quarter-to-quarter.
