Every ninth road accident is caused by wrong-way driving

Over 7 months of this year, 86,147 road accidents were recorded in the Russian Federation: 9,332 persons died and 110,673 were injured in them. All the three main indicators of the road accident rate decreased YoY by 6.2%, 9.8% and 5.4% respectively. Almost every ninth (10.8%) accident is caused by wrong-way driving. Besides, such road accidents account on average for one in three fatalities (29.1%) in the country.
