Nature throws some nasty tricks at people and their animals

OPINION: Recently I was given an amazing book, which made me realise that I take a lot for granted every day when dealing with our furry friends. We administer antibiotics or anaesthetics, and repair or remove something, or put a bit of stainless steel in there and we expect everything to be OK most of the time. But nature has a few little tricks to throw at us sometimes just to check that we are not getting complacent. Fender dragged his owner Kevin in to the hospital last Saturday to see me.
