The Algonquin Citizen News from the Village of Algonquin Summer 2017 Downtown Construction Starts in August Preliminary work for the Downtown Algonquin redevelopment project is set to begin in August. This work will include overhead utility relocation along Main Street from Edward Street south to IL-31/Prairie Trail. Overhead utilities will be undergrounded to allow for future streetscape, pedestrian, and lighting improvements on the surface of Main Street.
