HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL HOLDS GENERAL DEBATE ON TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND CAPACITY BUILDING

21 June 2017 The Human Rights Council this afternoon held a general debate on technical assistance and capacity building. In the general debate, delegations recognized the importance of technical assistance and capacity building in enabling countries to build human rights sensitive policies. Some delegations noted that technical assistance and capacity building played a particularly important role in enabling least developed countries and small island developing States to achieve their international obligations.
