Three homers not enough as Rays fall

Taylor Motter`s grand slam was the big blow in a five-run first inning as the Mariners raced out to a big lead in a victory over the Rays on Friday. Teammate Danny Valencia added a three-run homer and knocked in five runs. Kevin Kiermaier, Tim Beckham and Colby Rasmus each hit home runs for the Rays. Christian Bergman got the win for Seattle, allowing two runs in six innings.
