Ms Chairperson, I would like to congratulate you and everybody here on the occasion of this remarkable event that we have convened here today .It is the 10th anniversary of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which provided a major impetus for the development of the rights of indigenous peoples. Over the past decade, we have made great strides on this path. Indigenous issues have become firmly established on the UN agenda.
